We strive to keep the Service available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or events beyond our control.
5. Your Content and Conduct
5.1 User content
You may post content on the Service, including profile information, photos, reviews, comments, and (for organisers) event listings, photos, descriptions, and other materials (together, "User Content").

We are not responsible for User Content posted by others. We do not endorse any User Content and disclaim any liability for it.
6. Events and RSVPs
6.1 Events are organised by third parties
Most events on Freevent are organised by third-party organisers, not by us. Freevent provides the platform that connects you with these organisers but is not the host, promoter, or sponsor of these events. We make no representations or warranties about events listed on the Service.
6.2 Your responsibility at events
You attend events at your own risk. You are responsible for:
- Verifying event details with the organiser before attending
- Your own safety, transportation, and well-being at events
- Complying with the organiser's rules and any applicable laws
- Any actions you take at or in connection with events
6.3 RSVPs and tickets
When you RSVP to an event:
- You receive a QR ticket linked to your account that may be required for entry
- Your RSVP may be visible to the organiser and (depending on event settings and your privacy settings) to other attendees and your friends
- The organiser may revoke your RSVP for any reason consistent with their event policies
- We do not guarantee admission to any event — admission is at the organiser's discretion
6.4 No payment for events
Freevent is currently a free service for attendees. Events listed on Freevent are free to attend. If we introduce paid events or paid features in the future, separate terms will apply.
6.5 Organisers' obligations

- Indemnify Freevent for any claims arising from your events (see Section 11)
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our intellectual property
The Service, including its design, code, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and trademarks, is owned by [ENTITY NAME] or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service or any part of it, except as expressly permitted by these Terms.
7.2 Licence to you
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

8. Third-Party Services
The Service may contain links to, or integrate with, third-party websites, services, or platforms (e.g. Google Sign-In, Google Maps, payment processors). We do not control these third-party services and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms.
Your interactions with third-party services are governed by those services' own terms and policies. We encourage you to review them.
9. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, and availability.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- Defects will be corrected
- The Service or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components
- Events listed on the Service will take place as described or at all
- Any User Content posted by others is accurate, lawful, or appropriate
Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
[ENTITY NAME], its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
Our total cumulative liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ₦10,000 (ten thousand Nigerian Naira).
This limitation applies whether the alleged liability is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other basis, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damage.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
11. Indemnification

We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume the exclusive defence and control of any matter for which you are required to indemnify us, in which case you agree to cooperate with our defence.
12. Suspension and Termination
12.1 By you
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.
12.2 By us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or the Acceptable Use Policy
- You engage in conduct that may harm us, our users, or third parties
- We are required to do so by law or by a regulatory authority
- We discontinue the Service or substantially change its nature
Where reasonably practicable, we will provide you with notice and the opportunity to remedy a breach before suspending or terminating your account.
12.3 Effect of termination
On termination:
- Your right to access and use the Service ends immediately
- We may delete your account and User Content, subject to retention obligations described in our Privacy Policy
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive
13. Governing Law and Disputes
13.1 Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Before commencing any formal legal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at legal@freevent.app and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally. If we cannot resolve the dispute within 30 days, either party may initiate formal proceedings.
13.3 Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
13.4 No class actions
To the extent permitted by law, any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis, not as a class, consolidated, or representative action.

- Where the changes materially diminish your rights, give you a meaningful opportunity to decline by closing your account
Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance.
14.3 No waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of that right or provision.
14.4 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be severed, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
14.5 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights under them without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, or as otherwise permitted by law.
14.6 Force majeure
